The Arevoul Reversible Pullover Smock blends vintage British military designs, drawing inspiration from the Royal Navy and the finest aspects of the WWII Windproof SAS smock.
One side draws inspiration from the Royal Navy Ventile Windproof Deck Smock. The pattern for this smock was first introduced in the 1960s for Royal Navy personnel serving on aircraft carriers and similar vessels. Originally cut from windproof Ventile fabric, it featured many unique and interesting design details, and is now a rare and highly sought-after piece of British militaria.
Made in the UK from a high-density cotton, the Navy side is full of details inspired by the original issue Royal Navy smock. An oversized hood with snap-fastened peak and buckle-adjustable drawstring combine with a button-fastened flap placket for ease of wear with thermal retention. Two button-fastened patch pockets, a drawstring waist for an adjustable fit, and slanted raglan sleeves complete the design.
The reverse side is inspired by the WWII Windproof SAS Smock. Originally produced in a high-density gabardine fabric, this item was designed to be hard-wearing in harsh environments. With a simpler design than the Windproof Deck Smock, the beige side features four pockets with button-fastened flaps and elbow patches.
